The 82nd Annual Golden Globes Recap
January 5 marked the 82nd annual Golden Globes. An award ceremony known for its cinematic excellence. The award show acts as a night of recognizing some of the most notable films and television series across the year.
The night was kicked off with a monologue from comedian Nikki Glaser, known for her roast of Tom Brady, among other accolades in comedy, including her television series Not Safe that aired on Comedy Central, another reality television series, and live stand-up comedy.
After the heat received for last year's host, who made some not-so-tasteful jokes about women, especially on the topic of Greta Gerwig's Barbie, this year was much more well received. With a more light-hearted flavor, the comedian made many jokes about Timothée Chalamet, including Adam Sandler pronouncing his last name and his newly grown facial hair. Not to mention simulated hearted theater jokes surrounding a film that took the world by storm this past year, Wicked.
Following a fun opening, the night would later get into the moment that everybody had been waiting for: the nominations and winners.
